This one picks up where Part II leaves off...
For example, with teens, the most attention-getting threat is to
remove one or more electronic items. The usual appliances are
cell-phones or computers, but ipods or ipads, Playstations, TV's or
other "things" will suffice.
The next most effective punishment is to remove activities.
Younger kids also respond to this, but the message is "You're grounded."
The next most effective punishment is to remove space. Not
only are they grounded but they also have to stay in their room
(until its clean, organized, until their homework is done, until their
good grades return, etc.). On a side note, if you "ground" your teen
to his or her room, make sure the electronics in the room have been
neutralized...

  How many times have you gone to the doctor with symptoms like tension headaches, chronic acidity and irritable bowel and been told that we were suffering from stress. Most doctors will prescribe a mild tranquilizer and recommend that we adjust our lifestyle to change the discomfort that we feel.
Now we all know that lifestyle adjustment is easier said than done.   It is a fact that stress is the most pernicious disease confronting the human race in todays day and age. It is also true that there is very little that modern medicine can do for it other than prescribe a mild tranquilizer. Stress is an insidious killer that can in time cause cardiac problems to severely aggravate. It is also a cause for elevated sugar levels for people with diabetes. Stress causes chronic acidity and stomach ulcers that can eventually lead to stomach cancer and the only way to combat it is by changing the way you manage your lifestyle. So how do you mange your lifestyle enough to reduce stress.
Forget about how well your neighbor is doing. If you can forget about whether your neighbor, colleague, acquaintance is driving a better car, living in a better house or making a better salary you will free up all that time in living your life better and doing your job more successfully. When thinking about your teen's needs, you, as the acting parent,
